Oliver Family Reunion 2013 (6/14-6/16)

This past weekend, we attended the annual Oliver Family Reunion, which is pretty much the only time of year we get to hang out with the extended side of Matt's family, as well as others who are distantly related.

The kids had a blast, as usual.

I managed to catch Maia sleeping on her new cot before she awoke.

Even though Maia had never met her Great Uncle Charles, she immediately ran to him and sat with him for a long time.

Liam called occasional "PTA" meetings for his chocolate factory and did a Q&A session for us.

Maia helped Granny put beads on a string for necklace

 She was thoroughly entranced

After the reunion, we enjoyed some pool time

Then it was time to chill out on the cot again

The following morning, we discovered Maia on the floor of the hotel room. Apparently she didn't like sleeping on the cot.

After Father's Day Breakfast at Cracker Barrel, Maia and Liam played a friendly game of checkers. This involved Liam sliding a piece towards Maia, and Maia whacking it off the table with a straw. Very amusing. I am not sure who won.

Then the kids had to try out the kid-sized rocking chairs

Maia decided to chill again while we packed up to go home.

All-in-all, it was an enjoyable weekend. Good food, good company, and good fun. It's a shame we have to wait a whole year to experience it again. *sigh*
